Ruins Pub was themed after the Ruins' owner's favorite bars in Budapest, aptly named ruins bars. These bars featured local artists' "found art" throughout the bars and were located in decrepit old tenement housing. We wanted to take that DIY theme and incorporate it with the Kansas City's beer scene with a little of the Crossroad's art flair. We've been pouring beer and being weird since 2015.

"Beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy." - Ben Franklin
We have an unashamed love of beer here. We are always rotating our beers to offer our customers new and fresh tastes. Featuring a healthy mix of local, regional, and national brands we want our customers to get the full range of brews out there. Our passion is expanding people's minds with delicious food, fresh brews, and local art.
40 self serve beer taps allows our customers to sample as many beers as they would like. If you see something that looks interesting pour yourself a couple ounces and give it a try!
Our made from scratch menu gives you a little bit of everything. From Creole to Hungarian, we have a small menu focused on quality. We're not just your average bar food.
We're a little weird. That comes through in our obsession with weird 'found' and 'street' art. The Crossroads is Kansas City's art district and we embrace that community as much as we can.
Meet The Team
We take beer, food, and art seriously. But we might not take ourselves that seriously. We love what we do and we try to have fun. So if you're looking for white glove service, you might be looking in the wrong place. Our motto is, "Drink beer. Be weird. Have fun"
Was an engineer until I decided to break the chains from my corporate overlords. After quitting my job I decided to grow out my hair and become a world travelling hippie. I ended up teaching English in Prague for a couple years and loved making weekend trips to the ruins bars in Budapest. Living in Bavarian beer heaven and traveling to the world's most fun bars, I decided to follow my dreams and bring that experience to my hometown of Kansas City. Been living that dream since 2015.
